Sunday Morning Christian Learning
Grades 5 and below
At certain times during the year we offer short series of faith learning on Sunday mornings, including a three-week Holy Communion Class in the fall, a six-week Christmas Story series that prepares us to tell the story of Jesus’ birth at our annual Christmas Pageant, and a Passion-themed series every spring.
Adults
Our primary ministry of Christian Learning with adults meets on Sundays following worship (approximately 10:45 am) between Labor Day and Memorial Day. Sometimes gathering with all ages in hands on activity-based learning, sometimes only with other other adults, we explore the Bible and Christian theology for the sake of our growth and work as disciples of Jesus Christ.

Youth Groups
4th Grade and older
New Joy has three distinct youth groups that gather for learning, relationships, prayer, service, and fun.
4th–7th graders are part of TGIF – Together Growing in Faith. They meet about twice/month on Sundays during the school year.
7th and 8th grades are part of our Confirmation Class. They focus on learning about the Bible and the Lutheran Church, sharing a meal together, and going on field trips to explore God’s promises in the world. They meet about 2-3 times/month during the school year.
9th-12th graders are part of our Senior High Youth Group. They meet almost weekly on Sundays during the school year.

Messy Church
Once a month during the school year all ages gather on a Wednesday evening for a meal, fellowship, faith exploration stations, and worship – all in less than two hours. Come as you can, leave when you have to.
Check the calendar for future meeting dates, or contact the church office for more information.

Vacation Bible School
Each summer we transform our church space into a vibrant place of faith exploration. While children sign up for the activities, all ages are involved sharing and receiving the promise of faith as over 80 children and nearly as many youth and adults join in the fun and faith of this special week.

Women's Devotion Group
Women of all ages are invited to join us on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month for food, fellowship and a time of devotion. Time: 6:30 – 8:00 pm. We meet in someone's home on some Thursdays and at New Joy at other times. You may call the church office (317) 896-1402 to find the meeting location for a particular week.

Midweek Bible Study
During the school year, a midweek Bible study gathers at 1:00 pm on Wednesdays. This Bible study focuses on the coming Sunday’s reading, preparing participants to hear the message on Sunday. This Bible study meets from Labor Day through Memorial Day

Men's Group Breakfast & Devotion
All men are invited to come together on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month, beginning at 8:00 am, for a delicious breakfast, fellowship, and devotion time. Each meeting is held at New Joy.

Golden Girls
The Golden Girls meet each month on the first Thursday at a different restaurant in the area for good food and even better fellowship! We meet at 6:30 pm, and you may contact the church office to find out what restaurant we will be visiting that month. The Golden Girls is open to any woman 50 or over, but we also welcome anyone younger to join us if they wish. We like to say golden is not an age, it is a personality!
