Christmas Pageant

When: Sunday, December 17, during worship at 9:30 a.m.

PageantWould your child like to be a shepherd, king, angel, sheep or donkey in a Christmas pageant? All our welcome to participate!

On Sunday, December 17, during worship at 9:30 a.m., New Joy’s Christmas Pageant will involve the whole congregation — all ages — in telling the story of Jesus’ birth.

Some of the roles will be selected in advance, some impromptu that morning. Think of our pageant as a hybrid of an ad hoc “reader’s theater” event and a traditional scripted Christmas program.  If your family would like to participate in our Christmas Pageant, please contact Jessicah Duckworth by Sunday, November 26 so that we can have enough costumes and props for all who will participate.

Learn the Christmas Story

When: Sundays in late November and December during Christian Learning @ 10:45

Although no rehearsing is required to participate in New Joy’s Christmas pagePageant Rehearsalant, we will gather each week starting on Sunday, November 19, to learn the Christmas story and our roles in it – our roles in the pageant, but also our roles in God’s story about his Son coming into the world in love.

Entire families will participate in the pageant and in our weekly storytelling gatherings in November and December. We’ll practice songs, learn the five movements of the story of our Savior’s birth, rehearse lines, and grow together as we prepare to tell and to live out the greatest story of all.

Join us on the following Sundays from 10:45 a.m. – 11:30 a.m..

  • Sunday, November 19 at 10:45 a.m.
  • Sunday, November 26 at 10:45 a.m.
  • Sunday, December 3 at 10:45 a.m.
  • Sunday, December 10 at 10:45 a.m.
