Every Sunday morning, on Wednesdays leading up to Christmas, and on Christmas Eve, we gather to worship the one called Emmanuel, God is with us. We take the Gospel seriously, but we gather comfortably and casually to hear it. Click here to read about worship life at New Joy.
Sunday, December 24, 5pm and 7:30pm, Christmas Eve
On December 24 we will have our regular 9:30am worship service, marking the 4th Sunday in Advent. Later that evening we’ll turn to Christmas Eve worship, with festive services at 5pm and 7:30pm. Our 5pm service is a little more oriented toward households with younger children, with the primary message being a children’s message. Yet, children are certainly welcome at every worship service at New Joy. Click here to read more about our worship “style.”
Advent Evening Prayer
Beginning four Sundays before Christmas, Advent is a season of preparation and anticipation, of looking in hope for the dawn of Christ’s light. It is a tradition at New Joy to gather on Wednesdays during Advent for Evening Prayer. Quiet and candlelit, this thirty minute service is marked by singing ancient refrains, reading Scripture, and prayer.
