About New Joy Lutheran Church
New Joy Lutheran Church, a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), is a community of faith moved by God’s Spirit. We come to New Joy from different places, with different life and faith experiences. What draws us together is the center – our Lord Jesus Christ – who welcomes us into a common life and transforming faith, and sends us out to share generous grace and boldly live God’s promise.
Adopted as the Mission Statement of New Joy Lutheran Church
by the congregation at its Annual Meeting on Sunday, January 24, 2016
Individually we don’t always believe confidently, or pray wholeheartedly, or serve selflessly. Yet, in community we draw out the best in each other and in ourselves, lean on the faith of our sisters and brothers, and seek the goodness of God for ourselves and for the world that God so loves.
Full of belief or doubt, confidence or questions, there is a place for you at New Joy. Newcomers to Christianity, interfaith families, lifelong active church goers, and people raised in the church but who have spent decades away from the church all find their home here at New Joy. There is a place for you at New Joy.
New Joy was established just in 2002. As a congregation we’re still growing up. You might say we’re in our awkward adolescence. We haven’t figured everything out. We’re having fun as we grow and as we see what God is putting before us. We hope you’ll be part of our future.
