Christian Learning Ministries meet on Sunday mornings following worship, and weekly or monthly, for all ages. For information about what Sunday mornings look like at New Joy, click here: Sunday Mornings at New Joy.
TGIF is a dynamic fellowship group for kids and families in 4th-7th grade. This group gathers twice monthly – usually on Sunday afternoons – for faith exploration and fun. TGIF is intended to help kids connect with each other and with God in creative and active ways, and prepare the kids as they get older for Confirmation and Youth Ministry.
Confirmation Ministry is an intensive period of faith formation for 7th and 8th graders designed to give youth the experiences, vocabulary, and conviction to express Christian faith and live confidently in God’s promises. This ministry includes learning about the Bible, theology, the life of faith, and the work of the church. Service projects, hands-on experiences beyond the church walls, and opportunities to contribute to the worship life of the church are all part of Confirmation Ministry. Youth Group meets on Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm for a meal, fellowship, and Bible or faith lesson. The kids form a strong bond with each other and with God through their weekly gatherings, service projects, and annual mission trip. This year’s mission trip will be a faith service and immersion experience at the ELCA Youth Gathering in Houston, TX, in June 2018.
